The Badlands isn't well documented as a lot of it is actually Wilderness Area, and in particular the South Unit (where Palmer Creek is located) is really poorly documented, compared to many other national parks. The spring I had marked is one of several here that burrows under and overground down the steep ravine, then emerges to feed a system of small streams.
